CERDECEN is a unit of the Technical University of Sofia, which is the biggest higher technical school in Bulgaria.
Our field of interest is numerical and experimental investigation of complex turbulent flows. Our experimental activities are mainly directed toward three dimensional turbulent jets and indoor climate field studies.
We are particularly involved in the modeling of engineering processes based on complex flow interaction such as ventilation and combustion in industrial boilers. We have developed specialized software packages for computer simulation of these processes.

Project Overview
The series of 7 training courses of the EuroAcademy on Ventilation and Indoor Climate (CLIMACADEMY) are further development of the program of two projects: Annual International Course “Ventilation and Indoor Climate” (2002-2004) and Annual International Course “Computational Engineering” (2004-2005), organized within the Stability Pact for South-Eastern Europe and financially supported by Germany. A background of the academy is also the long-term collaboration between several European universities, recently expressed in the EC project “Center for Research and Design in Human Comfort, Energy and Environment – CERDECEN” within the EC Program “Centers of Excellence” and coordinated by CERDECEN, Technical University of Sofia.The lecturer consortium at the moment of running the project includes leading professors and senior researchers from 18 institutions from 8 MS, 2 ASS and 3 Other states; 7 of them from the core group of universities, participating in the above mentioned projects. CLIMACADEMY-courses face different scientific, technological and socio-economic aspects of a multidisciplinary domain. 7 training courses will be organized in Bulgaria by CERDECEN:
